After working hard all day, all our energy is exhausted. We sleep well to get rid of fatigue. Feeling a little fresher after a good night's sleep, right?

What exactly is the difference between sleep and rest? After you have a good night's sleep, you feel refreshed and energized. Getting enough sleep is not getting the rest you need. We do not know the importance of rest in life, so we always lack rest. It is very important to have these rests in equal measure in our life. There are 7 types of relaxation that the body and mind need. Let us see it in detail.

Physical rest:-

When we sleep or lie down for a short nap, this is called active rest. Along with this, there is also passive relaxation, which contributes to our overall health. Yoga, stretching, massage provide passive relaxation.

Mental relaxation:-

After trudging through the day, we start feeling a bit irritable and forgetful. At night, when we go to sleep exhausted, but what happened during the day is still going on in our head. Even when sleeping at night, we cannot sleep with our thoughts aside.

Even after sleeping for 8 hours, we still feel that our sleep is not complete. Wants to lie in bed. Have you ever wondered why this is happening to you?

Lack of mental rest is the main reason for this. Now how to save yourself from this trouble? Quitting your job or work is not the way to go. So, first check how many hours are your total work. Divide them into two two hours. Now take 10-minute break every two hours. And plan when you are going to take this break. Sometimes we need to take a vacation. So, we need to take a vacation. Keep a diary close to bed at night so that you can keep a record of the thoughts that keep you awake or make you afraid. So how can we overcome it? We can study this.

Sensory relaxation:-

The third type of relaxation is sensory relaxation, sitting in front of a laptop, computer all day long, lights, noises around, talking to a lot of people for work, this creates a lot of loads on our senses. Now you say, does this happen just by working in the office itself?

Because currently many people are working from home, but we are facing this problem by having online meetings. While working for this, it would be beneficial to sit quietly with your eyes closed for a minute or so. After finishing your work, start sleeping by unplugging yourself from electronics before going to sleep.

Creative leisure:-

Creative leisure is the most important of all the seven leisure’s. Such breaks help us to come up with new ideas. Remember the last time you went to a quiet place you like and sat there relaxing. After spending time outside in nature, we get a creative break.

Now just spending time in the presence of nature is not creative relaxation. So doing things, hobbies, arts that you like apart from work is creative leisure. Creative leisure includes making time for hobbies, things where we feel like we are expressing ourselves. We spend 40 hours a week thinking in confusion. So it can be seen that nothing creative is happening from us.

Emotional relaxation:-

Constantly worrying about what others will think increases the need for emotional rest. It takes a lot of energy to be polite to family members, friends, colleagues, and bosses.

Meet/call a friend with whom you can talk about anything at a time that won't make any judgments about you. Only then will we have "emotional rest". Being able to speak your mind and having someone listen to it is a sign of ultimate luck.

Social leisure:-

After emotional rest let us now see what social rest is,

Negativity has increased tremendously due to overuse of social media in the last few years. We can't change the people around us but trying to stay in touch with as many inspiring, uplifting, positive thinking people as possible is social relaxation. Keep in touch with people who are instantly excited after talking to them for 2 minutes.

Spiritual relaxation:-

After this rest let us understand spiritual rest, the feelings of love, affection, acceptance beyond the physical and mental and deeply understanding this is spiritual rest. Now to absorb this rest, involve yourself in activities that benefit others rather than yourself, engage in daily prayer, meditation and social activities of your choice.

Did you notice? You can't meet the rest of your rest needs just by getting enough sleep. So now focus on getting the rest you need. Be healthy both physically and mentally!
